Skin Diver Magazine calls Summersville Lake  "The Little  Bahamas of The East!" for good reason.  It is the cleanest, clearest freshwater lake east of the Mississippi River.  Average summertime visibility is 20 to 45 feet depending upon rainfall!

Sarge's Dive Shop is located on Summersville Lake in Nicholas County, West Virginia.   It literally floats on the lake.  You can drive up to Sarge's in your car or in your boat!

Our diving season runs from mid-May through mid-September.  We offer day and night scuba charters, swimming & snorkeling charters, Pontoon  Boat Rentals and lake tours. We are an authorized Sherwood / Genesis / Akona dealer.

We are certified N.A.U.I. & Y.M.C.A. scuba instructors.  We offer training and certification in the following courses:

    Open Water I Scuba
    Advanced Open Water
    Underwater Search & Recovery
    Scuba Life Saving & Accident Management
    Drysuit Training
    DAN O₂ Provider 
    Underwater Photography

 

Location

Take Interstate 79 or Interstate 77 to US-19.   Go 1/4 mile south of Summersville on US-19 and turn onto Airport Road.  Follow the signs to the Dive Shop and Summersville Lake Marina.

We are approximately 2 hours from Huntington, WV; 2 hours from Morgantown, WV; and about 3 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh, PA.   Summersville airport is just a 3 minute drive from Sarge's so you can fly to Summersville Lake if you desire.
